Artist Statement: t’s that time of year when I get a little introspective. I love painting figures and portraits but don’t make enough time for them. Spring is a nice excuse to give that attention. The seasons are changing, bodies have changed over the cold winter months, and I haven’t seen much of my own, to be honest. The layers fall, we evaluate the “damage”, and often find that things are alright. These figures are inspired by “real” women.
